Possibility of a move....

It's like rats leaving a sinking ship around here. For those that don't know, we live in a Mobile Home Community (just a fancy way of saying we live in a trailer park). The owners changed managers several months ago, since then it hasn't been the same. Different people have different ways of doing things, the new managers seem to drag their feet about fixing the jacuzzi and the pool, neither has been open since they took over.

Jerry and I both wondered how long it would be before the park would be turned into an apartment complex. Since we moved in here six years ago, we have seen two parks empty and then become apartments. There are just over 100 spaces here, maybe a half dozen are empty spaces, maybe another half dozen homes are empty. Just on our street there are about four people selling their homes. One family that moved out today. Yet a nice double-wide home came in today.

We don't want to move, we like our little home. We have been getting things just the way we want them. I now have a sewing room. Jerry's getting the front room set up with speakers and other music stuff.

We will see what happens. I will keep you all posted on whether we move or not.

On another note, I would like everyone to consider joining my forum The Written Page. It is for those who like to write.

Live fully.....

What a bummer. You are probably correct in your assumption about the future of your park. Have you asked that question directly to the managment/owners?

They probably won't tell you the thruth. They may be resorting to a real estate concept known as "constructive eviction". Which is a fancy way of saying the landlord does not maintain the premises in a habitable manner. Usually that means the rented unit becomes unfit for folks to live there.

In your situation, it probably means that the amenities you were promised in your lot lease are not being maintained. You might want to look at your lot lease and see what was promised. You might also want to discuss it with your neighbors and consider hiring an attorney.

Remember, I am NOT a lawyer.

Please keep me posted on the progress of your situation.

Love,

Dad
